A preschool covers the years before Grade 1, roughly from age two to six. In those years a child learns how to be with other children, how to listen, how to try something and try again. Reading and counting follow naturally.

The four stages

At Small Wonders, the preschool years run in four steps: Early Years for ages two to three, EY1 for three to four, EY2 for four to five and EY3 for five to six. Each asks a little more of the child than the last.

What a good preschool offers

  • Warm adults. A teacher who knows each child by name.
  • A steady day. A rhythm a small child can trust.
  • Real things to handle. Blocks, paint, sand, books.
  • Time outdoors. Every day, not once a week.

Three Small Wonders preschools

Model Town has been teaching Panipat's two to six year olds since 2002. Ikigai in Yamuna Enclave and Kaizen in Sector 12. Each has its own idea but the same inquiry-led way of learning. Infinia World School in TDI City also has its own kindergarten.

After preschool

Many of our learners go on to Infinia World School, the only IB World School within about 100 km, which teaches Early Years to Grade 8. See how to choose a school for nursery admission, or the full set of Small Wonders kindergartens.

A preschool is best judged on a visit. Come and see a morning in class at Model Town, Yamuna Enclave, Sector 12 or Infinia in TDI City.
